“Real in Rio” is a 2011 song written by Sergio Mendes, Carlinhos Brown, and Siedah Garrett for the Blue Sky Studios film Rio.

In the film, “Real in Rio” is divided in two parts. The first part is played on the first scene and it’s sung by many birds, but is interrupted when poachers came and capture all the birds and Blu falls from his tree after trying to fly for the first time. The second part is sung by Blu, Jewel, Pedro, Nico and Rafael on the second-last scene of the film. On the soundtrack, the song is complete.

The song was nominated for Best Original Song category at the 84th Academy Awards, with “Man or Muppet” from The Muppets.
